MAPPP-SETA is a sector training authority that supports and facilitates education and training in the media, advertising and visual arts, film and electronic media, cultural heritage, publishing, printing and packaging sectors. MAPPP-SETA is founded on the Skills Development Act and the Skills Development Levies Act. MAPPP-SETA assists organisations, which pay levies in our economic sector, to raise the skills levels of the sector, therefore making the sector more competitive and sustainable in the global market. This is achieved by increasing the capacity of the organisation in the sector as well as the skills development and training providers to deliver quality, accredited education and training interventions for the workforce and the employers within the MAPPP sectors. MAPPP-SETA is founded on the Skills Development Act and the Skills Development Levies Act and gazetted as SETA 15 with a detailed scope of coverage. In order to register with MAPPP-SETA the employer must contribute a levy (unless exempt), as specified in the Skills Development Levies Act, to the South African Revenue Service (Form EMP 101E), specifying the sector and component in the scope of coverage to which they belong.
